Quran surah Al Anbiya 41 in english translation

Sahih International

(21:41) And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(21:41) Indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you (O Muhammad SAW), but the scoffers were surrounded by that, whereat they used to mock.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(21:41) Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(21:41) Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(21:41) And certainly apostles before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed.

Dr. Ghali

(21:41) And Messengers even before you were indeed already mocked at, then whatever (the disbelievers) mocked at redounded upon the ones (i.e; the disbelievers) who scoffed at them. (The Messengers)

Ali Unal

(21:41) Indeed, Messengers were mocked before you (O Muhammad), but the very thing, because of which the people used to mock them, overwhelmed those who scoffed at the Messengers (to humiliate them).

Amatul Rahman Omar

(21:41) And certainly Messengers have (also) been treated as mere trifles even before you with the result that those who made light of them (- the Messengers) were caught by the very thing they held as vain and unimportant.

Literal

(21:41) And had been mocked/made fun of with messengers from before you, so surrounded with those who mocked from them, what they were with it mocking (so those who mocked were surrounded by their deeds).

Ahmed Ali

(21:41) Many apostles have been scoffed before you; but they who scoffed were themselves caught by what they had ridiculed.

A. J. Arberry

(21:41) Messengers indeed were mocked at before thee, but those that scoffed at them were encompassed by that they mocked at.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

(21:41) And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, then there surrounded those of them Who scoffed that whereat they had been mocking!

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(21:41)-

Muhammad Sarwar

(21:41) They mocked the Messengers who were sent before you; thus, the torment which they had ridiculed encompassed them all.

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(21:41) Nay, it shall come on them unawares, and shall dumbfound them, and they shall not be able to repel it, nor shall they be reprieved.

Faridul Haque

(21:41) And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves.

Talal Itani

(21:41) Messengers before you were also ridiculed, but those who jeered were surrounded by what they had ridiculed.

Ahmed Raza Khan

(21:41) And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves.

Wahiduddin Khan

(21:41) Other messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overwhelmed by the very thing they had mocked.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

(21:41) Indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you, but the scoffers were surrounded by what they used to mock.

Ali Quli Qarai

(21:41) Apostles were certainly derided before you; but those who ridiculed them were besieged by what they had been deriding.

Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish

(21:41) Before you, other Messengers were mocked, but the mockers were encompassed by the very thing they mocked.   That is translated surah Al Anbiya ayat 41 (QS 21: 41) in arabic and english text, may be useful.
