Quran surah Yunus 99 in english translation

Sahih International

(10:99) And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed – all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(10:99) And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad SAW) then compel mankind, until they become believers.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(10:99) And if thy Lord willed, all who are in the earth would have believed together. Wouldst thou (Muhammad) compel men until they are believers?

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(10:99) If it had been thy Lord’s will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe!

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(10:99) And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?

Dr. Ghali

(10:99) And if your Lord had (so) decided, whoever is in the earth would indeed have believed, all of them, altogether. Would you then compel mankind until they are believers?

Ali Unal

(10:99) If your Lord had so willed (and, denying them free will, compelled humankind to believe), all who are on the earth would surely have believed, all of them. Would you, then, force people until they become believers?

Amatul Rahman Omar

(10:99) And if your Lord had (enforced) His will those who are on the earth would have believed one and all. Would you then constrain the people to become believers (while Allâh has not forced them to believe)?

Literal

(10:99) And if your Lord wanted/willed who is in the earth/Planet Earth all of them, all/all together would have believed (E), so do you compel/force the people until they be believers/believing?

Ahmed Ali

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(10:99) And why was there not a town which believed, so that their belief should have profited them, but the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the chastisement of disgrace in this world’s life, and We gave them provision for a while.

Muhammad Sarwar

(10:99) Had your Lord wished, the whole of mankind would have believed in Him. (Muhammad), do you force people to have faith?

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(10:99) If only there were a community that had believed and profited from its faith. But none did except the people of Jonah. When they believed We removed from them the Torment of Disgrace in this world, and We gave them provision for a while.
