وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ وُقِفُوا عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِالْحَقِّ ۚ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

Quran surah Al An’am 30 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:30) If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Lord. He will say, “Is this not the truth?” They will say, “Yes, by our Lord.” He will [then] say, “So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.”

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:30) If you could but see when they will be held (brought and made to stand) in front of their Lord! He will say: “Is not this (Resurrection and the taking of the accounts) the truth?” They will say: “Yes, by our Lord!” He will then say: “So taste you the torment because you used not to believe.”

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:30) If thou couldst see when they are set before their Lord! He will say: Is not this real? They will say: Yea, verily, by our Lord! He will say: Taste now the retribution for that ye used to disbelieve.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:30) If thou couldst but see when they are confronted with their Lord! He will say: “Is not this the truth?” They will say: “Yea, by our Lord!” He will say: “Taste ye then the penalty, because ye rejected Faith.”

(6:30) And could you see when they are made to stand before their Lord. He will say: Is not this the truth? They will say: Yea! by our Lord. He will say: Taste then the chastisement because you disbelieved.

(6:30) And if you could see (them) as they are made to stand against their Lord! He will say, “Is not this (ever) the Truth?” They will say, “Yes indeed by our Lord!” He will say, “Then taste the torment because you used to disbelieve.”

(6:30) But if you could see when they are made to stand in their Lord’s Presence: He says: “Is not this (your being raised from the dead and gathered in My Presence) the truth?” They say: “Yes indeed, by our Lord!” He says: “Taste, then, the punishment for what you used to disbelieve.”

(6:30) And could you but see when they are made to stand before their Lord, (He) will say, `Is not this (Resurrection) true?´ They shall say, `Yes, indeed, by Our Lord, it is!´ He will say, `Suffer then the punishment as a result of your disbelief.´

Literal

(6:30) And if you see/understand if they stopped/arrested at their Lord, he said: “Is that not with the truth/real ?” They said: “Yes/certainly, by our Lord.” He said: “So taste/experience the torture, with what you were disbelieving.”

Ahmed Ali

(6:30) If you see them when they are put before their Lord, He will say to them: “Is not this the truth?” They will answer: “Indeed, by our Lord.” He will say: “Then taste the agony of punishment for what you had denied.”

(6:30) Would that you could see them standing before their Lord who would ask them, “Is not the Resurrection true?” They would reply, “Yes, Lord, there is a Resurrection.” The Lord would then say, “For your disbelief, suffer the torment.”

(6:30) Losers, indeed, are they who disbelieved in meeting Allah, until, when the hour comes suddenly upon them, they say, “Alas for us, that we were neglectful!” They shall bear their burdens on their backs; evil is what they bear.

(6:30) And if you see when they are placed before their Lord, He will say, Is this not real (the truth)? They will say, Yes – why not, by our Lord! He will say, So now taste the punishment – the recompense of your disbelief.

(6:30) If you could only see when they are made to stand before their Lord! He will ask them, “Is this [second life] not the truth?” They will say, “Yes, by our Lord!” He will say, “Then, taste the punishment that comes from your having refused to acknowledge the truth!”

(6:30) If you could but see when they will stand before their Lord! He will say: “Is not this the truth” They will say: “Yes, by our Lord!” He will then say: “So taste you the torment because you used not to believe.”

(6:30) Were you to see when they are brought to a halt before their Lord. He will say, ‘Is this not a fact?’ They will say, ‘Yes, by our Lord!’ He will say, ‘So taste the punishment because of what you used to deny.’
