Quran surah Al An’am 5 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:5) For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:5) Indeed, they rejected the truth (the Quran and Muhammad SAW) when it came to them, but there will come to them the news of that (the torment) which they used to mock at.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:5) And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:5) And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(6:5) So they have indeed rejected the truth when it came to them; therefore the truth of what they mocked at will shine upon them.

Dr. Ghali

(6:5) So they already cried lies to the Truth as soon as it came to them. Then the tidings of whatever they used to mock will eventually come up to them.

Ali Unal

(6:5) And so they willfully deny the truth (embodied by the Qur’an) when it has come to them (and mock the truths, warnings, and especially the tidings of the Resurrection). Even so, they will come to understand what it was they were mocking.

Amatul Rahman Omar

(6:5) So they have already cried lies to this perfect truth when it came to them, but soon there shall come to them the news of ( the fulfillment of the prophecies) that they have been taking very lightly.

Literal

(6:5) So they had denied/lied with the truth when it came to them, so information/news (of) what they were with it mocking/making fun of will come to them.

Ahmed Ali

(6:5) So they disbelieved the truth when it came to them; but they will soon come to know the reality of what they had ridiculed.

A. J. Arberry

(6:5) They cried lies to the truth when it came to them, but there shall come to them news of that they were mocking.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

(6:5) Surely they have belied the truth when it came unto them; so presently there cometh unto them the tidings of that whereat they have been mocking.

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(6:5)-

Muhammad Sarwar

(6:5) They have refused the Truth (Muhammad’s message) that has come to them but they will soon learn the consequences of their mocking.

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(6:5) Do not they see how many a generation We have destroyed before them, whom We had established more firmly than you, and sent them abundant rain from heaven, and made the rivers flow beneath them? Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them.

Faridul Haque

(6:5) So indeed they denied the truth * when it came to them

Talal Itani

(6:5) They denied the truth when it has come to them; but soon will reach them the news of what they used to ridicule.

Ahmed Raza Khan

(6:5) So indeed they denied the truth* when it came to them; so now the tidings of the thing they used to mock at, will come to them. (Prophet Mohammed -peace and blessings be upon him, or the Holy Qur’an).

Wahiduddin Khan

(6:5) They have rejected truth whenever it came to them, yet [more] news will reach them concerning what they have been making a mockery of.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

(6:5) Indeed, they rejected the truth when it came to them, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to mock at.

Ali Quli Qarai

(6:5) They have certainly denied the truth when it came to them, but soon there will come to them the news of what they have been deriding.

Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish

(6:5) They belied the truth when it came to them, but there shall come to them news of that they were mocking.   That is translated surah Al An’am ayat 5 (QS 6: 5) in arabic and english text, may be useful.
