Quran surah Al An’am 46 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:46) Say, “Have you considered: if Allah should take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, which deity other than Allah could bring them [back] to you?” Look how we diversify the verses; then they [still] turn away.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:46) Say (to the disbelievers): “Tell me, if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who is there – an ilah (a god) other than Allah who could restore them to you?” See how variously We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), yet they turn aside.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:46) Say: Have ye imagined, if Allah should take away your hearing and your sight and seal your hearts, Who is the Allah Who could restore it to you save Allah? See how We display the revelations unto them! Yet still they turn away.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:46) Say: “Think ye, if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who – a god other than Allah – could restore them to you?” See how We explain the signs by various (symbols); yet they turn aside.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(6:46) Say: Have you considered that if Allah takes away your hearing and your sight and sets a seal on your hearts, who is the god besides Allah that can bring it to you? See how We repeat the communications, yet they turn away.

Dr. Ghali

(6:46) Say, “Have you seen (that) in case Allah takes away your hearing and your be holdings, (Literally: eyesights) and seals your hearts, who is a god other than Allah to come up with them (back) to you?” (i.e; bring them “back” to you) Look how We propound the signs; thereafter they turn aside.

Ali Unal

(6:46) Say: “What do you think, if God should take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, what deity but God is there that could restore it to you?” Look, how We set out the Revelations and signs (of God’s Existence and Unity and other truths of faith) in diverse ways, and yet they turn away.

Amatul Rahman Omar

(6:46) Say, `Have you ever considered if Allâh were to take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, what god other than Allâh can restore these (boons) to you?´ See how We expound (multiple) arguments in diverse ways. Yet they turn away thereafter.

Literal

(6:46) Say: “Did you see/understand, if God took your sense of hearing and your eye sights/understanding, and sealed/stamped on your hearts/minds , which god other than God comes to you with it?” See how We83elaborate linguistically the signs/verses/evidences, then they turn away/avoid.

Ahmed Ali

(6:46) Say: “Imagine if God takes away your hearing and sight, and sets a seal on your hearts, what deity other than God will restore them to you?” See how We inflect Our signs: Even then they turn aside.

A. J. Arberry

(6:46) Say: ‘What think you? If God seizes your hearing and sight, and sets a seal upon your hearts, who is a god other than God to give it back to you?’ Behold how We turn about the signs! Yet thereafter they are turning away.

(6:46) So the roots of the people who did wrong were cut off. And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Muhammad Sarwar

(6:46) (Muhammad), ask them, “Have you ever considered that if God was to disable your hearing and vision and veil your hearts, could anyone besides Him restore them?” Look at how plainly We show them the evidence (of the Truth) but they always ignore it.

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(6:46) Say, “Think! If Allah´s punishment should come to you unawares or openly (expectedly), would any perish save the people who do wrong?”

Faridul Haque

(6:46) Say, What is your opinion – if Allah were to take away your hearing and your sight and seal your hearts, then is there a God besides Allah who could restore it for you? Observe how We explain the verses to them, yet they turn away!

Talal Itani
