وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِنْ رِجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ

Quran surah Saba 5 in english translation

Sahih International

(34:5) But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure – for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(34:5) But those who strive against Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to frustrate them, those, for them will be a severe painful torment.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(34:5) But those who strive against Our revelations, challenging (Us), theirs will be a painful doom of wrath.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(34:5) But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- for such will be a Penalty,- a Punishment most humiliating.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(34:5) And (as for) those who strive hard in opposing Our communications, these it is for whom is a painful chastisement of an evil kind.

(34:5) And (the ones) who endeavor against Our signs trying to defy them, those will have a torment of painful chastisement.

(34:5) Whereas those who strive against Our Revelations, seeking to frustrate and void (them), for those (who have thus distanced themselves from their Lord) is a painful punishment of loathsome kind (earned by their own loathsome deeds).

(34:5) But (as to) those who strive hard against Our revelations seeking to frustrate (Our plan), it is they who will suffer a harrowing punishment of the worst sort.

(34:5) And those who strived/endeavored in Our verses/evidences disabling/frustrating, those for them (is) a torture from painful filth .
