وَأَلْقَوْا إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ السَّلَمَ ۖ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ

Quran surah An Nahl 87 in english translation

Sahih International

(16:87) And they will impart to Allah that Day [their] submission, and lost from them is what they used to invent.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(16:87) And they will offer (their full) submission to Allah (Alone) on that Day, and their invented false deities [all that they used to invoke besides Allah, e.g. idols, saints, priests, monks, angels, jinns, Jibrael (Gabriel), Messengers, etc.] will vanish from them.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(16:87) And they proffer unto Allah submission on that day, and all that they used to invent hath failed them.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(16:87) That Day shall they (openly) show (their) submission to Allah; and all their inventions shall leave them in the lurch.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(16:87) And they shall tender submission to Allah on that day; and what they used to forge shall depart from them.

Dr. Ghali

(16:87) And they will cast forth to Allah submissiveness upon that Day and whatever they used to fabricate will err away (Or: stray away) from them.

(16:87) On that Day they (those who associated partners with God) have offered submission to God, (which out of arrogance they used to withhold), and what they used to fabricate (by way of false deities to worship besides God) has failed them.

(16:87) And on that day they shall tender submission to Allâh, and all that they used to forge shall forsake them.

Literal

(16:87) And they threw to God (on) that day/time the submission/surrender , and what they were fabricating/cutting and splitting (was) wasted/nullified/lost from them.

(16:87) They will offer submission to God that Day, and the lies they fabricated will not be of the least avail.
