فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ

Quran surah Al Fajr 15 in english translation

Sahih International

(89:15) And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.”

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(89:15) As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): “My Lord has honoured me.”

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(89:15) As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(89:15) Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), “My Lord hath honoured me.”

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(89:15) And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me.

(89:15) Then, as for man, just when his Lord tries him, so He honors him, and showers His favors on him, then he says, “My Lord has honored me.”

(89:15) And so, human – when his Lord tries him by bestowing favors on him – says: “My Lord has honored me.”

(89:15) Moreover a human being is such that when his Lord disciplines him (by prosperity) and (thus) honours him and bestows favours on him, he says, `My Lord has honoured me.´

Literal

(89:15) So but the human/mankind when as long as his Lord tested him, so he honoured him and He blessed/comforted and eased him , so he says: “My Lord honored me.”

(89:15) As for man, whenever his Lord tries him and then is gracious and provides good things for him, he says: “My Lord has been gracious to me.”
