Sahih International

(11:80) He said, “If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support.”

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(11:80) He said: “Would that I had strength (men) to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support (to resist you).”

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(11:80) He said: Would that I had strength to resist you or had some strong support (among you)!

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(11:80) He said: “Would that I had power to suppress you or that I could betake myself to some powerful support.”

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(11:80) He said: Ah! that I had power to suppress you, rather I shall have recourse to a strong support.

Dr. Ghali

(11:80) He said, “If only I had power against you, or had my abode valiant support.”

(11:80) He said: “O! would that I had power to resist you, or that I could lean upon some strong support!”
