فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ

Quran surah Al Mulk 27 in english translation

Sahih International

(67:27) But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, “This is that for which you used to call.”

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(67:27) But when they will see it (the torment on the Day of Resurrection) approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be different (black, sad, and in grieve), and it will be said (to them): “This is (the promise) which you were calling for!”

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(67:27) But when they see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will be awry, and it will be said (unto them): This is that for which ye used to call.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(67:27) At length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the Unbelievers, and it will be said (to them): “This is (the promise fulfilled), which ye were calling for!”

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(67:27) But when they shall see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve shall be sorry, and it shall be said; This is that which you used to call for.

(67:27) Then, as soon as they see it drawn forward, the faces of the disbelievers will be vexed, and it will be said, “This is (the thing) that you used to claim.”

(67:27) But then, when they see it close at hand, the faces of those who disbelieve turn black with grief, and it will be said to them (who had been so mocking): “This is what you were calling for (derisively).”

(67:27) But when they see it (- the threatened punishment) nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will wear a grieved look. And it will be said (to them), `This is what you used to ask for so persistently.´

Literal

(67:27) So when they saw it in close proximity/close , those who disbelieved`s faces/fronts became bad/evil/harmful, and (it) was said: “That (is) what you were with it calling (hastening).”

(67:27) When they realise it has come upon them, distraught will be the faces of unbelievers. They will be told: “This is what you asked for.”

(67:27) Then, when they see it nigh at hand, the faces of the unbelievers will be vexed, and it will be said, ‘This is what you were promised.’
