Quran surah Al An’am 131 in english translation

Sahih International

(6:131) That is because your Lord would not destroy the cities for wrongdoing while their people were unaware.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(6:131) This is because your Lord would not destroy the (populations of) towns for their wrong-doing (i.e. associating others in worship along with Allah) while their people were unaware (so the Messengers were sent).

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(6:131) This is because thy Lord destroyeth not the townships arbitrarily while their people are unconscious (of the wrong they do).

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(6:131) (The messengers were sent) thus, for thy Lord would not destroy for their wrong-doing men’s habitations whilst their occupants were unwarned.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(6:131) This is because your Lord would not destroy towns unjustly while their people were negligent.

Dr. Ghali

(6:131) That is so, for your Lord would not cause towns to perish unjustly, (Literally: with injustice) (while) their population are heedless.

Ali Unal

(6:131) Clearly it is not the way of your Lord that He would destroy lands unjustly without their people being warned (beforehand of the consequence of their way of life) and therefore unmindful (of the distinctions between right and wrong, truth and falsehood).

Amatul Rahman Omar

(6:131) This (sending of the Messengers) is because your Lord destroys no township unjustly whilst their inhabitants are unwarned.

Literal

(6:131) That (is) that your Lord was not destroying the villages/urban cities with injustice, and its people (are) ignoring/disregarding .

Ahmed Ali

(6:131) And this (so that it may be clear) that your Lord does not destroy towns and cities arbitrarily while the citizens remain unaware.

A. J. Arberry

(6:131) That is because thy Lord would never destroy the cities unjustly, while their inhabitants were heedless.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

(6:131) This is because thy Lord is not one to destroy a town for its wrong-doing while its people are unaware.

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(6:131) O community of jinn and men, did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My messages and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They will say: We bear witness against ourselves. And this world’s life deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

Muhammad Sarwar

(6:131) Your Lord did not want to destroy the towns, unjustly, without informing their inhabitants (of His guidance).

Hamid Abdul Aziz

(6:131) That is because your Lord would never destroy a township arbitrarily, while their people are unaware (of what is wrong).

Faridul Haque

(6:131) This is because your Lord does not unjustly destroy townships for their people may be unaware.

Talal Itani

(6:131) That is because your Lord would not destroy towns for injustice while their inhabitants are unaware.

Ahmed Raza Khan

(6:131) This is because your Lord does not unjustly destroy townships for their people may be unaware.

Wahiduddin Khan

(6:131) Your Lord would not destroy a community for its wrongdoing, so long as its people were still unaware.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

(6:131) This is because your Lord would not destroy the (populations of) towns for their wrongdoing while their people were unaware.

Ali Quli Qarai

(6:131) This is because your Lord would never destroy the towns unjustly while their people were unaware.

Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish

(6:131) That is because your Lord will not destroy villages unjustly, while their inhabitants were inattentive.   That is translated surah Al An’am ayat 131 (QS 6: 131) in arabic and english text, may be useful.
