وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ آوَىٰ إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَا أَخُوكَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

Quran surah Yusuf 69 in english translation

Sahih International

(12:69) And when they entered upon Joseph, he took his brother to himself; he said, “Indeed, I am your brother, so do not despair over what they used to do [to me].”

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(12:69) And when they went in before Yusuf (Joseph), he betook his brother (Benjamin) to himself and said: “Verily! I am your brother, so grieve not for what they used to do.”

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(12:69) And when they went in before Joseph, he took his brother unto him, saying: Lo! I, even I, am thy brother, therefore sorrow not for what they did.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(12:69) Now when they came into Joseph’s presence, he received his (full) brother to stay with him. He said (to him): “Behold! I am thy (own) brother; so grieve not at aught of their doings.”

(12:69) And when they went in to Yusuf. he lodged his brother with himself, saying: I am your brother, therefore grieve not at what they do.

(12:69) And soon as they entered to Yusuf, (Joseph) he gave an abode to his brother (saying), “Surely I, even I, am your brother; so do not feel chagrined by whatever were doing.”

(12:69) And when they presented themselves before Joseph, he welcomed his brother to himself, and (having taken him aside) said: “Surely it is I – I am your brother, so do not grieve over what they did.”

(12:69) When they entered upon Joseph he betook his brother to himself for restful lodging (making him his personal guest). He (- Joseph) said (to Benjamin), `I am your (real) brother (Joseph), so now do not grieve over what they (- our other brothers) have been doing.´

(12:69) And when they entered on Joseph, he gave shelter/refuge (hosted) his brother to him, he said: “That I, I am your brother, so do not be miserable because (of) what they were making/doing .”

(12:69) When they came to Joseph he made his brother his guest, and said: “I am your brother. So do not grieve for what they had done.”
