Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(41:48) And those to whom they used to cry of old have failed them, and they perceive they have no place of refuge.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(41:48) The (deities) they used to invoke aforetime will leave them in the lurch, and they will perceive that they have no way of escape.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(41:48) And away from them shall go what they called upon before, and they shall know for certain that there is no escape for them.

Dr. Ghali

(41:48) And whatever they used to invoke earlier will err away from them, and they will surmise that in no way can they have any evasion.

Ali Unal

(41:48) And those whom (they made as deities and) invoked before will surely fail them; so they will know for certain that there is no escape for them.

Amatul Rahman Omar

(41:48) (Not only that) those (false gods) whom they called upon (in their worship) before that, will be lost to them, they will know for certain that they have no place of escape.

Maulana Mohammad Ali

(41:48) To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. And no fruit comes forth from its coverings, nor does a female bear or bring forth but with His knowledge. And on the day when He calls out to them: Where are My associates? they will say: We declare to Thee, not one of us can bear witness.
