وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ وَظَنُّوا مَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ

Quran surah Fussilat 48 in english translation

Sahih International

(41:48) And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(41:48) And those whom they used to invoke before will fail them, and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge (from Allah’s punishment).

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(41:48) And those to whom they used to cry of old have failed them, and they perceive they have no place of refuge.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(41:48) The (deities) they used to invoke aforetime will leave them in the lurch, and they will perceive that they have no way of escape.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(41:48) And away from them shall go what they called upon before, and they shall know for certain that there is no escape for them.

(41:48) And whatever they used to invoke earlier will err away from them, and they will surmise that in no way can they have any evasion.

(41:48) And those whom (they made as deities and) invoked before will surely fail them; so they will know for certain that there is no escape for them.
