أو تقول لو أن الله هداني لكنت من المتقين

Aw taqoola law anna Allaha hadaneelakuntu mina almuttaqeen

Or [lest] it say, “If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous.”

Or (lest) he should say: “If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2).”
