فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ

Quran surah Ar Rum 57 in english translation

Sahih International

(30:57) So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah].

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(30:57) So on that Day no excuse of theirs will avail those who did wrong (by associating partners in worship with Allah, and by denying the Day of Resurrection), nor will they be allowed (then) to return to seek Allah’s Pleasure (by having Islamic Faith with righteous deeds and by giving up polytheism, sins and crimes with repentance).

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(30:57) In that day their excuses will not profit those who did injustice, nor will they be allowed to make amends.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(30:57) So on that Day no excuse of theirs will avail the transgressors, nor will they be invited (then) to seek grace (by repentance).

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(30:57) But on that day their excuse shall not profit those who were unjust, nor shall they be regarded with goodwill.

Dr. Ghali

(30:57) Then, upon that Day their ready excuse (s) will not profit the ones who did injustice, nor will they (be allowed to) make amends.

Ali Unal

(30:57) On that Day their excuses will be of no avail to the wrongdoers (who denied God or associated partners with Him), nor will they be allowed to make amends (nor offer regrets to escape the punishment).

(30:57) So on that Day no excuses (in their defence) will avail those who had acted unjustly, nor will they be allowed to approach the threshold (to be admitted into the fold of the near ones of God).

Literal

(30:57) So (on) that day those who caused injustice/oppression, their apologies/excuses do not benefit (them), and nor they, they be allowed to offer reconciliation/appeasement .

Ahmed Ali

(30:57) Their excuses will be of no avail to the sinners on that day, and they will not be allowed to beg for favour.

(30:57) So that day their excuses will not profit the evildoers, nor will they be suffered to make amends.
