وَلَوْ قَاتَلَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوَلَّوُا الْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُونَ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا

Sahih International

(48:22) And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(48:22) And if those who disbelieve fight against you, they certainly would have turned their backs, then they would have found neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(48:22) And if those who disbelieve join battle with you they will take to flight, and afterward they will find no protecting friend nor helper.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(48:22) If the Unbelievers should fight you, they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper.

(48:22) And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs, then they would not find any protector or a helper.
