كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

Quran surah Al Mutaffifin 14 in english translation

Sahih International

(83:14) No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.

Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan,

(83:14) Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

(83:14) Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(83:14) By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do!

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(83:14) Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts.

Dr. Ghali

(83:14) Not at all! No indeed, (but) whatever they were earning has overlaid on their hearts.

Ali Unal

(83:14) By no means! But what they themselves have earned has rusted upon their hearts (and prevents them from perceiving the truth).
